Saturday night was an amazing night in northern New Jersey - New Jersey Performing Arts Center was celebrating their 20th Anniversary with a star-studded gala performance and an absolutely packed 3300+ seat hall. Lead by legendary jazz bassist, Christian McBride, the evening featured the New Jersey Symphony conducted by Xian Zhang, James Monroe Inglehart, Alexis Morrast and Ricky Persuad, Michael Feinstein, Paquito D’Rivera, India, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Savion Glover, Lisa Fischer, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. One major entertainer after another (with two amazing students representing the powerful arts education work of NJPAC) all night long. I’m so thankful that they asked me to be a part of the night.
Congrats on 20 wonderful years, NJPAC! I can’t wait to see what you accomplish in the next 20!
